New River Veterinary Specialists opened in June 2022 and is a custom built 15,000-square foot, state of the art facility located 12 miles from the beaches of Hilton Head and 25 minutes to Savannah, GA. We are actively hiring for licensed, credentialed or experienced veterinary technicians to join our Neurology Department. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about veterinary medicine, hard-working, compassionate and empathetic with people as well as animals, reliable, organized, enjoy client communication and work well with our diverse team.
New River is equipped with all the advanced technology you’d expect from a custom built state-of-the-art facility. Including a full in-house lab, 16-slice helical CT, 1.5 telsa MRI, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology suite, multiple ultrasounds, in house blood bank and component therapy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, full service sports medicine and rehabilitation department, and a dedicated intensive care unit including long-term mechanical ventilation.
The NRVS team currently includes 1 Internists, 1.5 Criticalists, 1 Surgeons (1 also Certified in Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine), 1 Neurologist, 8 Emergency doctors, a VTS-ECC and an amazing team of technicians, assistants and CSR’s.
Learn New Skills! Neurology technicians will work directly with our Neurologist while also participating in patient care, diagnostic tests (including MRI, neuromuscular testing etc.), general anesthesia of neurosurgical patients, rehabilitation and acupuncture while being supported by our emergency, critical care and surgical teams. Natural skills with small animals are a must, but we are also looking for someone who has great communication skills with technician & client service teammates, doctors and clients. We are looking for technicians who are skilled at patient assessment and care, anesthesia, venipuncture, intravenous catheterization, medication administration & drug calculations, client communication/education and maintenance of medical records.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in general practice or emergency/specialty hospital is preferred or an LVT/CVT/RVT. If you are looking for a hospital that will support you as an individual, help you grow as a technician and treat you like family, I would strongly encourage you to apply.
